The weather on Stakes Day this year was forecast to be 33 degrees. So, it was important my Stakes Day outfit was able to handle the heat. I was lucky enough to wear this stunning, broderie lace dress from YB J’AIME’s latest collection. It was the perfect solution for braving the heat and keeping me super comfortable all day.
A Stakes Day outfit is typically more relaxed, as it is “family day” and is also the last day of Melbourne Spring racing carnival. So, I decided to go with this simple shift silhouette and to continue the slightly 60’s vibe through the head piece and sunglasses. I then wore my hair in a high bun to manage the heat. It was actually quite strange when I was doing my hair, as I don’t think I’ve worn a bun like this since my ballerina days!
All in all, the Melbourne Spring racing carnival this year was possibly my favourite one yet! I’m already looking forward to next year!
