Have you noticed a trend lately of frayed denim jeans? Well, we did.. and we decided to show you a few ways to style this trend for every day! Our favourite wardrobe staple would have to be the shirt, mostly oversized and long. This is the perfect pairing partner with frayed denim jeans. Layer a shorter, cosy knit over the top and you have yourself a cool outfit, if we do say so ourselves!
Frayed denim jeans look best slightly cropped and worn with a cool pair of mules, clean-line heeled boots or point-toe pumps. Rule No. 386: Keep it clean so the fray stands out.
Today we chose to play with Marks & Spencer’s wide leg crop jean in dark indigo and their ankle-grazer skinny jean in pale blue. We wanted to show how to style the two different jean silhouettes, both with frayed hems. As an added bonus, the skinny jean also has a turned down darker hem colour, drawing the eye and adding an interesting feature to a classic favourite… now that’s a win-win in our book… happy days!
In the spirit of “Winter is coming…”, we’ve chosen to style our jeans with some cosy knitwear styles, to help guide you in your styling choices once the ice gods come out to play! As always, we love our layering, so styling knitwear over a longline shirt was naturally a given. Layered lengths create an effortless look, that say “What this old thing? This is just something I threw together, but yeah I know I look pretty damn cute! And secretly I’m suuuuper comfortable, so I’d understand if you have outfit envy”.. well anyway, that’s what we imagine the outfit would say if it could talk.
Are you still with us..? Ok great. So basically that’s how we would style frayed denim jeans. Stylebk out.
